There was a recent article in The Record about Don Foell's family's business. A. H. Foell & Co. was a major trucking firm in the north half of today’s Waterloo Region. It also sold blocks of “clean, natural ice” that it cut from Silver Lake in Waterloo Park.

The next meeting of the book club will be held on Wednesday May 25th, at the home of Doug Bean at 2:00 pm. Book for discussion will be "The Tin Flute" by Gabrielle Roy. Newcomers welcome.

Outdoors Group :

Our next walk is on Tuesday 17th May at 09:30. We'll walk along a section of the Walter Bean trail starting at access point 11 near Victoria St N and Shirley Dr.

Saturday, June 18 – There is still room on the trip to Port Dover. It promises to be a good outing day and is great value at $85 person . The deadline for ordering tickets is May 18.Depature time has been changed to 8:30 A.M.  Please contact Brian Hendley if you would like more information.


Upcoming Events:

Keep the evening of Thursday, June 30 free.  Henk Morsink is in the process of organizing a tour of an advanced 200 cow dairy farm.  This farm is recognized worldwide for its cattle breeding, dairy production, cattle selection and international marketing of bull serum

and cow embryos.  Spouses will be welcome on the tour of this unique facility.  More details will be made available as soon as they are finalized.

Possibility of New Probus Club:

The 8 local Probus clubs are looking into the possibility of starting a new coed Probus club.  The first step is to collect names of people who might be interested in joining such a club.  If you have friends who might be interested, please pass their names and either phone number, email or postal address to our Membership chairman, John Williams at jhcwilliams@rogers.com or at 519-579-6571.
